Audition Date:  Sunday, March 30, 2008

Time:  2-4 pm and 6-8 pm 

Place:  At Cape Rep Indoor Theater, 3299 Rte. 6A, Brewster, MA

 

Instructions:  You will be asked to read from the script, which will be provided to you at the audition.  No appointments are necessary.   You will be auditioned on a first come first serve basis.  A headshot and resume are preferred but not required.

About the play and the roles available

It is 1952, and the daughter of Joe McCarthy is in love with a young physicist passing H-bomb secrets to the Russians, a female Boston detective is in love with the G-man hunting the spy, and a Boston Jewish super will kill for the love of the sweet Russian herring fisherman who couriers the secrets to Soviet agents to save his wife back in Russia---an absolutely hilarious love story.

 

Looking for:

Maggie Pelletier:  Mid-30s.  A Boston police investigator, tough and determined, girlfriend to Frank Keller

 

Frank Keller:  mid-30s, an FBI agent, straight shooter, boyfriend to Maggie, this actor also plays two other characters.

 

Lynn McCarthy:  early 20s, daughter of Senator Joe McCarthy, sexually motivated, James’ fiancé, actor also plays the Clerk

 

James Appel:  early 30s, physicist, Jewish, atheist, idealistic, a Russian spy, Lynn’s fiancé, also plays 3 other characters

 

Mrs. Kravitz:  Late 40s early 50s. Jewish, crusty, cynical, kills for the love of Andrei, superintendent of an apartment building along the Boston fish wharf, also plays two other characters

 

Andrei Borchevsky:  late 40s, Mrs. Kravitz’s lover, Russian, very wise, loyal and loving, a herring fisherman living along Boston wharf, forced into passing secret information to Soviet agents to save his wife back in Russia, also plays several other characters.
